How To Assign a Document

Document assignment in ERPNext is handled through the creation of ToDo Documents. Essentially, creating a ToDo for a User and attaching a Document to it is the same as assigning the Document to that User. All Assigning a Document does (besides notifying the User) is create a ToDo Document using a short template form.

  1. Open the Document you wish to assign.
  2. In column to the left of the Document Form, select the "+" button under "Assigned to".
  3. A ToDo form will pop up. Fill out the form.

    Assign to me
    Select this checkbox as a shortcut to assign a document to yourself.
    Assign To*
    Select the User you want to assign the Document to.
    Comment
    Add/edit any comments for the assignee.
    Complete By
    Add a due date, if appropriate.
    Priority
    Assign the ToDo a priority.
  4. Click the blue "Add" button in the lower right corner of the form.
